Former Fort Wayne mayor candidate finally admits his guilt.

Kelty pleads guilty | Indiana's NewsCenter: Fort Wayne WPTA-TV, WISE-TV, CW, and My Network | Local & Regional: "FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- DEVELOPING --- Former Republican Mayoral candidate Matt Kelty has pleaded guilty to criminal charges stemming from allegations of campaign finance fraud and perjury before a Grand Jury."

The Journal Gazette has excepts from the e-mails that lead to the guilty plea. It looks to me like the GOP was setting him up for failure, or were at least not going to "have his back" when this all came out.

Voting!!!

I got up nice and early about 6am. and drove down the street to the polling place. They opened at 6 so there really wasn't anyone there. I was able to walk right in show my ID and sign some book. Go to a electronic voting machine and push the buttons for Henry and Goldner, I even voted for a libertarian for At Large. This was the first time I ever voted. I don't know why but it felt pretty good. I never really paid much attention to politics as I have this year especially locally. I can't wait till next year when (if Georgie W. allows it) there will be presidential elections. I need to get my self in the habit of sleeping more at night so I can get more involved with volunteering the next time around.

I noticed something kind of funny outside the polls there were lots of political signs, but none for Republican golden boy Matt Kelty. The kool-aid must not have been made early enough for them to get some people out to put up signs.

H/T: Just for the Record

Note, names have been changed to point out the guilty.

One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up -- fireman, mechanic, businessman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, and so forth.

However, little Mike was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his father, he replied, "My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret named "DaVinci's Decadent Dance Den" and takes off all his clothes in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for money."

The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and then took little Mike aside to ask him, "Is that really true about your father?"

No," the boy said, "He works for the Fort Wayne Republican party, helping to get Matt
Kelty to be our next Mayor, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids.

Shine dissolves local GOP's executive committee | The Journal Gazette

"Shine said he decided to eliminate the group because its members were using it as a forum to get publicity for party infighting."

A fine example of a great leader, if you can't bring your team together and get them through a rough spot, just eliminate the team. Good thing the Chicago Cubs don't follow republican strategy. This kind of reminds me of my job. When the road gets bumpy just drop the load on one guy, instead of spreading the load out.

I guess the last part is a personal issue, things aren't going well at work. I love fixing problems left by outside contractors. Especially when the work they did is critical to timing new product launches. The one time you need things go go smooth they get so screwed up you can't even see a light at the end of the tunnel. I guess I know were I will be Saturday and Sunday.

Missspeaking?

Doonesbury@Slate-35th Anniversary--:

Here are some interesting quotes for the day.

'I missspoke.' -- Mitt Romney, on his earlier suggestion that his sons' work on his presidential campaign was comparable to serving in the military in Iraq

'I misspoke.' -- Rudy Guiliani, on his earlier claim to have spent as much time at Ground Zero as most of the workers

So I guess it won't be much of a change from Bush if one of these asshats get elected.

On a local note, I wonder how long it will be before we hear about how Mayor candidate Matt Kelty has missspoke when he testified to the grand jury and ended up with those perjury charges.

FortWayne.com : Fort Wayne news

Kelty indicted on nine counts Republican candidate for mayor charged with perjury, fraudulent election filing By Dionne Waugh The Journal Gazette

An Allen County grand jury indicted Republican mayoral candidate Matt Kelty on Tuesday, charging him with seven felonies and two misdemeanors.
Kelty, 42, is charged with two counts of perjury, five felony counts of fraudulent election filing and two misdemeanor counts of commingling campaign and personal funds, special prosecutor Dan Sigler said.

Kelty was taken in handcuffs to the Allen County Lockup,

I shouldn't laugh at another person's misfortune, but when I read that I giggle like schoolgirl. I am kind of surprised they actually handed down a indictment.

Seriously, even though I think he's guilty, I have would guess a jury trial will find him innocent at least partially. Maybe we should start a betting pool. I don't really think Kelty is as evil as Bush and actually plotted this out. He made a big mistake that is for sure. I could care less about him serving prison time. Just keep him out of that Mayor's office.

Journal Gazette | 05/24/2007 | Kelty to file amended campaign finance report

Well golly gee Matty, if you weren't doing anything wrong why suddenly file a "amended campaing finace report"? Guess he really is going to bring conservitism back to Fort Wayne, the good ol' fashion corrupt kind. I can't wait to read the right wingnut blogs and see how the Kelty lovers defend this. I bet this will be a fun weekend for Fort Wayne blogs. Change Fort Wayne will have lots of fun I bet.

If Fort Wayne police are so interested in cracking down on prostitution in Fort Wayne maybe they should start at Kelty's campaign HQ?

Tuesday, March 13, 2007

One thing I have learned the last few days is, I know for sure I don't want this Matt Kelty guy to be our next mayor. Some how some kids in a Indy school had sex in a classroom because Ft. Wayne has strip clubs.

First they take away smoking now they want to take away strip clubs. Truth be told some of the strip clubs may end up closing down or at least do a lot less buisness because of the smoking ban anyway. What pisses me off is when I read comments. Why does every right wingnut think strip clubs are full of prostitutes and drugs? These people watch too many movies or something. There are laws and such that regulate these buisnesses. It's not the drunken lawlessness people think is going on. Sure there are people getting drunk in there, but it's not a free for all Roman orgy happening.

Now of course I'm all for protecting children and such. There is no place for a strip club near a school or anything like that. Honestly, NO Fort Wayne doesn't need anymore clubs or sex oriented buisnesses. I don't want massage parlors or crap like that coming back, that kind of thing is just creepy. Most of the clubs in town are nice, there are 2 or 3 that you might consider a "dive". The funny thing is I see more laws get broken in the big fancy clubs then those little "dive" places.

Here are a few post from other sites I do agree with, Just for the Record, and Angry White Boy. They make good points, AWB's idea isn't bad.
