If you go to the Urban dictionary website and look up the phrase, Pullin'a Palin you get some interesting responses. My favorite part of the site is on the right side next to each definition. They have thumbs up or thumbs down icons you can click on to vote for each one. All the obvious right wing "she's a hero for quiting" type responses are not doing so well in the voting.

I know being raised with Conservative, right wing leaning values I was drilled into me on every possible occasion that "winners never quit", "quitters never win", when the "going get's tough the tough get going"... blah blah blah. So is Palin a exception to that rule or a good example of it?

South Carolina Gov. Sanford admits extramarital affair - CNN.com: "(CNN) -- South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday, amid speculation over his whereabouts for the last several days, that he has been engaged in an extramarital affair with an Argentinian woman."

A Republican caught having a affair with a woman? I'm shocked! and not even a American woman. Surely the terrorist have won.

I found this little gem on MSN.com

As a congressman, Sanford voted in favor of three of four articles of impeachment against President Bill Clinton, citing the need for “moral legitimacy.”

Another case, of do as I say, not as I do, or maybe, May he who is without sin cast the first stone?

Tel Aviv search for mattress containing $1M life savings - CNN.com

JERUSALEM (CNN) -- It was supposed to be a pleasant surprise, but turned into the shock of a lifetime. A woman in Tel Aviv, Israel, gave her elderly mother a new mattress as a surprise gift, throwing out the old tattered bed her mother had slept on for decades. The gesture ended up bankrupting Annat's mother, who had stuffed her savings of nearly $1 million inside her old bed for decades, Annat told Israel Army Radio.

A massive search is under way at the city dump, where security has been beefed up to keep out treasure-seekers who have heard Annat's story in Israeli media.

Annat, who did not want to reveal the rest of her name, told Israel Army Radio that she woke up early Sunday to get a good deal on a new mattress as a surprise for her mother.

Holy FAIL! Batman. So anyone want to make a trip to Israel to retrace the steps of Jesus, and maybe visit the site of the famous sermon on the garbage mount?

On a side note if you go, keep the heels of your shoes on the ground. I guess souls upset them Israles. rimshot

The Argyle Sweater Blog: "Tragedy in Chicago
Okay, maybe it's not quite tragic for everyone, but it is for me. I've just been informed by my syndicate that The Chicago Tribune has made some changes -some tragic changes.
Apparently, the Trib has changed their comics format - essentially down-sizing it and cut 5 of it's newest comics in the process. A lot of newspapers, when cutting costs, cut comics. And when newspapers cut comics, it's often the newest comics that get cut.
I suspect the logic is that the newest comics will have the fewest loyal readers and won't cause much of a ruckus when it goes missing. For me (and I'm sure all of the other cartoonists affected) this is a big loss - in readership and income.

Anyhow, here's my plea:
If you live in the Chicago area and enjoy The Argyle Sweater in the Tribune, please e-mail the editor and let them know that you enjoy it and that you'd like to see it reinstated.
Also, if you have a blog or a Twitter account, I encourage you to encourage others to do the same. You'd be surprised at what a difference a few voices can make.

For those wishing to request The Argyle Sweater’s reinstatement, the feature editor’s name is Geoff Brown.
Send all e-mails to:
gfbrown@tribune.com
or snail mail:
Geoff Brown,
Chicago Tribune, 435 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611"

Argyle Sweater is a great comic, a lot like the old "Far Side" cartoons and sometimes requires some deep thought to get the jokes.

Erectile dysfunction ads too hot for TV? - amFIX - CNN.com Blogs

Now that all the worlds problems are solved, Democrat Jim Moran wants to ban ED ads. Here I thought it was the Republican's job to shove morality and purity down our throats every chance they get.

"The CIA officers used waterboarding at least 83 times in August 2002 against Abu Zubaydah, according to a 2005 Justice Department legal memorandum...The memo also says that the CIA used waterboarding 183 times in March 2003 against Khalid Shaikh Mohammed."
-- from a New York Times story

Those CIA guys must be some pretty bright bulbs. 183 times? Shouldn't they have figure out it wasn't working after say about the 20th time?

FOX Sports on MSN - Golf - Bill Murray tee shot hits lady, sends her to hospital: "LUTZ, Fla. (AP) - Actor Bill Murray hooked a tee shot so badly during a Pro-Am event on Friday that the ball sailed across a street next to the hole and hit a woman in her front yard. She was knocked to the ground and had to go to the hospital."

This just struck me as funny for some reason. Maybe it's the vodka in my orange juice?

Finally what I have known all along has been revealed to the unwashed masses,

Fox "News" - Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia: "Fox News is one of the most respectable, news sources in America and the most accurate news station that ever existed, it is the absolute answer to the meaning of life and it is the most unbiased and greatest news agency ever to exist. It is said by most to be the modern equivalent to the Holy Bible and functions in much the same way. Its top notch staff includes Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. It is believed that all news channels will eventually evolve into the exact opposite of conservative Fox News except Fox News itself. Fox is known for rigidly following their slogan of fair and balanced. Anyone who disagrees with Fox News is wrong."

This is one of the most sicking things I ever read.

Keith Thomson: Poll: Are Radio Stations Right to Censor the Eagles?

"Classic Rock" radio stations in Alabama have decided to start censoring the Eagles song Life In The Fast Lane because of the line,

We've been up and down this highway/
haven't seen a goddamn thing.

You have to be kidding me. This song is like 33 years old, is there someone calling the radio stations to complain about that word? It's not even a FCC thing it's just some radio stations deciding they know what is best for everyone.

They have a poll up were you can vote for or against them censoring the word "goddamn".
