Bushism

"Many parts of Iraq are stable now. But of course what we see on television is the one bombing a day that discourages everybody."
-- Laura Bush

Between her and George the holidays have to be a real hoot in that family.

I haven't really seen much lately to blog about. I have been playing a new online game based on Lord of the Rings, It's a pretty good game, still in the beta testing stages. Next time I'm bored I will write up something about some of the on-line games I play.

I did read a stoy on MSN about Al Gores electric bills. OMFG!!!! Al Gore uses electricity!!! I thought I lead a dull live. Someone out there actually took the time to dig up The Gores electric bills and analyize them. I guess the crying is because Al is trying to get people to use less power that creates carbon gases, and they don't think he is practicing what he preaches. The group is called Tennessee Center for Policy Research, here is a link to a artical all about how Al uses more electricity then the average home, of course it doesn't mention if they are considering the size of the houses. Obviously he lives in a bigger house then most of us, so yes he probably uses more engergy. Anyways, at least he is trying to do something and get the word out. I wonder how much energy these people are using up attacking him and forceing him to respond, another on going cycle of crap, thanks to our "conservative" friends. WTF? how can you be a "conservative" and not be interested in conserving things? I guess conservative just refers to their own pocket book.

What really strikes me is these people that a basicaly denying that humans are having a impact on the environment. How can you not see what is right in front of your face. There are billions of people how could there be no effects on the world? There is no magic wand to wave to make everything go away, and I am not saying we all should become green peace warriors or anything, but what could it hurt to change to a lower power using light bulb the next time one burns out?

President Bush

Wow, whould have ever thought President Bush graduated from High School or at least he maybe has a dictionary.

"Trade is an important subject here at Caterpillar, and the reason why is because a lot of the product you make here, you sell to somebody else, sell overseas to another country. That's trade. And yet it's—it's a topic of hot debate."—Speaking to workers at the Caterpillar equipment company, East Peoria, Ill., Jan. 30, 2007

It also seen that searching for Pandagon can get you to "Der Parson's Rant". I think it buried in Google now because of all the attention this has gotten. It sucks that Pandagon and Amanda Marcotte have ended up quiting working for the Edwards campaign. It's probaby better for them with all the hate mail and threats. Hopefully they will get back to some normal on their sites and Edwards can get this behind him. I'm not saying I'm glad they aren't on the campaign, I am just saying In my opinion is probably better. It's hard to believe "christians" act with all that hate and such. That shows me being christian is the same a being a fanatic muslim. Winston Churchill said it best, "A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject"(thanks wikipedia). I guess I missed a meeting or something I though christians were suppose to be following the teaching of Jesus. I might be fuzzy on the subject but I don't remember Jesus hating people. I guess my respect for christians is at a all time low thanks to this episode. I probably could go on for hours but I will take a break before I become a rightwing Bush warshiping nutjob. I see were McCain is becoming a wanna be Bush. oooh McCain: Roe v. Wade should be overturned or McCain Defends Bush's Iraq Strategy. ITMFBHE (Impeach The Motherless Fool Before He's Elected) yeah, I just made that up, I'm bored.

Interesting

I have been checking out my site meter stats and check this out, if you do a google search for isreal news articals on google, you see "Der Parson's rant" right there on the first page.

On site meter you can get a world picture that shows were visitors are from, I see one or two from there in the middle east. One all the way from China.

I guess it doesn't take much to impress me. I thought it was kind of cool, I would have never though Google would ever come close to this little blog.

Pandagon

I don't know if you been keeping up with the Edwards scandle thing going on about the bloggers. There is a story here Taylor Marsh. The one blogger Pandagon resigned, if you try and go to her site it just a supended message up.
She put some of the hate mail she has got from them types, and it's not very Christian, some of it is just very wrong. I really has me pissed off these people call themselves christians, they sound like Muslim extremist. It must help them sleep at night knowing they sent a nasty e-mail to someone. How can they belive that is what Jesus would do? Have they ever opened a Bible? The whole "let he that is without sin" story is a good example of what he would have said about this whole thing.

If possible I'm going to try and send Pandagon a nice e-mail letting her know not everyone out here is a insane nutjob. I have to wait until her site comes back to find her email address, if she even has it on there anymore.

Snow day!

YAY!!! I'm taking a snow day and staying home from work, just looking out the window it's nasty outside. Ft. Wayne is under blizzard warnings and under a lvl. 2 snow emergency. I am not sure what a lvl. 2 snow emergency means exactly, but it sounds like I better stay home from work.

Liberal Journal, has a great post and says pretty much exactly what I have been thinking about this Iran bit for a while. Think about it, by the 2008 elections get started won't it be convienent for the US to be at war in Iran. What a dirty trick to get another Republican voted in as president or for Bush to figure out a way to suppend the Constitution and stay in power.

A lot of stuff is still going on over John Edwards and his bloggers.

Aldon Hynes has a pretty good piece here, I am Amanda Marcotte and I am Amanda marcotte, Part 2. It's a interesting story to me especially dealing with how bloggers are treated.

There is also some more here on Taylor Marsh

I have been trying to figure out were I stand on things for the last few months. Sometimes I lean left sometimes right. Don't worry I'm not going to start carrying around a elect the power hungery republican war monger party sign or anything. I will probably do several post like this from time to time.

Mostly I like linking articals and quotes I find interesting.

I found this posted on Daily Kos and part of it explained something I have been trying to figure out for a while, what the diffence is between the Republicans and Democrats.

I found this quote that I liked,

If there is a defining difference in my mind between Democrats and Republicans it’s the notion that we’re all in this together, we take care of our own. Republicans believe in "you’re on your own" - "I got mine good luck, and keep your hands off mine." They believe the purpose of government is to protect what is theirs and make sure they get more."

I guess Arabs aren't so bad after all, here is a story from CNN, I can't find a actual link to the story, but I read it on Booman Tribune.

An annual poll of six Arab countries puts President George W. Bush at the top of the world's 'most disliked' for the first time in the history of the poll, CNN International reported today.

According to the poll's author, Shibley Telhami, past results have always placed the Prime Minister of Israel as the most disliked among Arabs. "In the past few years, the President of the United States has become number two. In the most recent survey, the striking thing is for the very first time in the Arab world the most disliked person is the President of the United States of America, and superceded the combined numbers for both the Prime Minister of Israel and his hated predecessor Ariel Sharon, who's in a coma," said Telhami.

The poll, which did not give those polled choices for the most liked and disliked, allowed people to suggest any person outside of their own country. In past years, France's Chirac was chosen as the most liked person. This year, Arabs selected Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, because of the "black eye" given to Israel after they withdrew from their attack on Lebanon, according to the report.

I think it's kind of funny how they hate Bush more then the Prime Minister of Isreal.

John Edwards?

I don't know too much about John Edwards, but after reading some news going around, it might be worth doing some research into. I guess there has been some trouble with some bloggers Pandagon and Shakespeare's sister. Here is a story from the NYT

Here is a clip of the news I read on one site.

John Edwards in News Feed of 2/08/2007 at 11:36 AM EST The tone and the sentiment of some of Amanda Marcotte's and Melissa McEwan's posts personally offended me. It's not how I talk to people, and it's not how I expect the people who work for me to talk to people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that kind of intolerant language will not be permitted from anyone on my campaign, whether it's intended as satire, humor, or anything else. But I also believe in giving everyone a fair shake. I've talked to Amanda and Melissa; they have both assured me that it was never their intention to malign anyone's faith, and I take them at their word. We're beginning a great debate about the future of our country, and we can't let it be hijacked. It will take discipline, focus, and courage to build the America we believe in.

There is a site
to help show your support and will e-mail a type of form e-mail to several MSM outlets that pretty much botched the story and do their best to make bloggers look bad.

They only cost $10.00 and if your buy 4 you get 1 free, what a deal!!!!
